Monoline Design Awards is an independent international design competition spanning professional Graphic, Illustration, and Product categories, plus Experimental for research, observation, discovery, and creative experimentation.

Yes. The award is intended for entrants worldwide. Designers do not need to be based in the United States, and work may address local, regional, or global audiences.

Professional designers, studios, agencies, in-house teams, artists, illustrators, makers, brands, educators, and multidisciplinary collaborators may enter Graphic, Illustration, or Product. Experimental is open to all ages and backgrounds.

The 2026 scope includes professional graphic design, posters, editorial and identity systems, campaigns, illustration, visual storytelling, products, packaging, objects, materials, physical systems, and prototypes. Experimental welcomes design research, visual observations, everyday discoveries, and creative experiments.

Graphic, Illustration, and Product are professional divisions. Choose Graphic, Illustration, or Product for a traditional discipline-based outcome. Choose Experimental for design research, visual observations, everyday discoveries, or creative experiments; no traditional design outcome is required.

Experimental expands the boundaries of what design can be. No traditional design outcome is required. We value sharp observation, meaningful inquiry, and ideas that open new ways of seeing.

Experimental is open to all ages and backgrounds. If an entrant is under 13, a parent or legal guardian must create or manage the account, submit the entry, provide the required consent, and control any personal information shared with Monoline. Other minors may also need parent or guardian permission under applicable law.

Conceptual, speculative, experimental, and self-initiated work may be eligible when it is original, clearly presented, and honestly described. Entrants should distinguish concepts and prototypes from commercially released work.

Yes, provided the entrant has permission to submit the materials and accurately credits the client, design team, collaborators, photographers, illustrators, manufacturers, and other contributors.

Yes. Collaborative work may be entered under a studio, agency, company, school, collective, or team, with individual contributors and responsibilities listed in the credits.

Each paid entry should use the one category that best reflects its primary design problem and outcome. Do not submit the same project to multiple professional divisions unless the current rules explicitly permit it. Research, observations, discoveries, and creative experiments should use Experimental.

Previously published, commercially released, exhibited, or previously awarded work may be entered only when the entrant has the rights and the work satisfies the current eligibility rules. If its status is unclear, contact Monoline before paying.

Entries are reviewed for clarity of idea, originality, relevance, execution, communication, category fit, and overall design impact. The work is considered in the context of its selected division.

Monoline's Jury Team brings independent expertise across graphic design, illustration, product design, education, and culture. Jurors do not review work where a professional, educational, or personal conflict exists.

A thoughtful award entry can help designers benchmark work, articulate design decisions, strengthen a portfolio narrative, and gain independent review. A paid entry receives jury consideration for recognition, editorial coverage, and the inaugural archive. Additional opportunities apply only when formally confirmed.

No design award can guarantee commercial results, employment, press coverage, or exhibition placement. Any confirmed winner benefits, publication formats, partner opportunities, certificates, or physical awards will be stated explicitly in the official program.

Entrants retain ownership of their work. The accepted Rights and Submission Terms grant Monoline the limited permissions needed for judging, award communication, editorial presentation, and archive display.

Do not upload confidential, embargoed, or unreleased client materials unless you have authorization. Submitted materials are handled according to the accepted Rights and Submission Terms and Privacy Policy.

Material AI assistance must be disclosed accurately where relevant. Entrants must have rights to every submitted asset and remain responsible for authorship, originality, credits, and the human creative contribution represented in the entry.

The submitted work itself may use any language. The design statement, image captions, credits, and other information used for judging must be provided in English so an international jury can review every entry consistently.

Prepare a concise project title, category choice, strong images, captions, design statement, context, objectives, constraints, outcome, complete credits, and any approved video or supporting link. Current formats and file limits are shown in the official entry portal.

Do not ship anything unless the official rules specifically request it. The submission process is digital. Do not ship physical work unless Monoline sends a specific written request with handling instructions.

Yes. Entries are open through September 10, 2026. Early Entry is $35 through August 26; Regular Entry is $45 from August 27 through September 5; Late Entry is $60 from September 6 through September 10. Each stage changes at 12:00 AM Pacific Time immediately after its published deadline date, and entries close September 11 at 12:00 AM Pacific Time.

Submitted entries can be corrected for 72 hours after submission. Entrants should review images, names, credits, permissions, and contact details carefully before final submission.

Jury review runs September 11-15, 2026. Finalists are announced, winners are notified, and public results are released on September 17, 2026.
